I have been experiencing water overflow issues for many years now and it has cropped up again. The water that flows from the fill tube to the cup fill seems to be flowing far too rapidly and overflows the ice maker resevoir and forms an ice block in the ice bin. Depending on the temperature in the ice box it may even freeze the despensing motor up as well. The rotating arm on the ice maker also accumulates ice on it and will eventually freeze to the body of the ice maker.
A repair man made a simple repair by creating a beed of silicon caulk across the water path in the cup fill which seemed to work until the caulk lost it grip on the cups surface. He says he sees this issue alot with these ice makers.
Is there a cup that is designed to slow the flow of the water before it gets to the ice maker?
Any other suggestions to resolve this issue are appreciated.
Thanks for your time!
