A few weeks ago our Kenmore side by side, model 596.57582790, stopped making ice.
Water not filling the ice tray. The feed line was not iced up and using a jumper wire I found the solenoid valve was delivering water to the freezer. Decided the problem was the ice maker itself and ordered replacement ice maker part #AP135008. The new unit runs through it’s entire cycle, even tries to harvest ice but still will not fill with water.
There is no ice build up in the fill tube, again using a jumper wire in the freezer I have good water flow inside the freezer, 8oz. in about 9/10 seconds.
Freezer temp holds steady at 0 degrees. Temp settings have not been changed in years.
The ice maker has been removed, sat at room temp overnight, and reinstalled with the same result.
