Idler Pulley touching motor shaft

In March of 2008 I replaced the belt #341241, both support rollers #349241T, and idler pulley #691366. After 6 months squeal started, but dryer worked. This month squeal turned to a grinding noise.

Tonight I replaced belt #341241, only right support roller (DE702) , and idler pulley #691366.

Old teflon idler pulley chewed up on side facing the front of dryer. Center pin no longer attached to front side of bracket.

Very difficult to put new belt on, is it too short? Belt is now on dryer, can’t measure now. Are others having this problem?

When dryer turned on, sever grinding noise. When inspected it appears teflon pulley is TOUCHING motor shaft!

Both support rollers seem to be OK, and idler pulley seems to be the correct size.
