I had an issue with front burners not sparking enough and thereby not igniting the gas.
I purchased two igniters, replaced them, and this only fixed one of the burners, the other front one wouldn’t spark (front right). I then decided to switch around one of the working burner assemblies (the rear one) with the one that wasn’t igniting (front right). Once switched, the (front right) burner assembly worked fine at the rear position, and the previously working burner (rear) now at the front position would rarely spark if at all.
The igniter switch switch seems to be fine, since all the other burners start sparking, except for the front right when I turn it on.
I think it may be the ignition module, which I just ordered.
Please let me know what part I should now replace. I could also use some instructions on how to replace the part at issue (if it is the module). I did take a loot at the exploded (disassembled) diagrams of my oven posted on this site.
I believe the ignition module (aka a spark module) should solve the problem. It could locate behind the rear cover or under the oven (you have to remove the bottom drawer) on the right hand side.
This is so similiar to my problem that I thought that I had posted it. WE have bought a spark igniter electrode for our Bosch Gas Cooktop but need some directions on how to replace it. Did you find a site for instructions?

You have to remove the whole glass top in order to access the igniter.
Remove the burner caps. Unscrew the three screws holding each base ring. Very likely most of them are rusted in, so you will need to drill out such screws. While doing that try not to damage the burners.
Remove all knobs and carefully pull up the glass top. The igniter is attached to the burner.
If you do not feel comfortable to do it yourself then hire a pro to do it for you.
Gene, we have replaced the spark igniter devices on the front two elements which were the problem…parts 421156. The metal spark piece that sticks out of the device is shorter than the original.*?
anyway, the front two light but spark non stop. Can you pull those wire pieces further out or how can we get that sparking to stop??
Thanks.

If it would not help, replace the spark module. Make sure the wires from the ignition switches and igniters are connected to the terminals with the same numbers.
Thanks for all the info. After ruling everything out, I went to the electrical schematic diagram and found that the two front wires were indeed switched. Changed them over and voila! All fixed. I think in one of the repair jobs, my husband must have hooked it back up wrong.

My happiness was premature. The front elements now ignite and don’t spark UNLESS you put a pot on them. You can put a corner of the pot on either of the front elements but no more or it starts to spark.
Why is this?

Make sure the burners are assembled properly, the cap is in place and the burners are not wet.
That seems to be ok . Even when we hold a pot above the flame, forcing the flame down, it starts the clicking.
You said the reason these electrodes were redesigned and that is why the look shorter than the old ones. Could this be part of the problem?
