Incomplete spin

My Kenmore washer will complete a spin cycle but leaves the clothes too wet. It’s NOT leaving visible water in the tub. Happens with full loads 100% of time and medium loads depending on the weight of the materials, ie. towels v.s. shirts. I will manually set a second spin cycle and that gets the excess water out of the clothes. Have measured this frequently and typically will get about an extra 1/2 gallon of water removed on the second spin.
This Happens on all wash cycles. The wash has sounded noisier on different cyles. But, not consistently.

What I’ve done:
Replaced the pump and verified pump lines were clear.
Currently have the tub removed and the coupler is good (replaced it a few years ago).
The Drive Block looks good and the tabs interlock solid.
Clutch looks like there is plenty of shoe left on it.
The Clutch assembly does look like there are black chatter marks around the inside of the clutch housing.

Based on the above, does this sound like its the clutch slipping or more of a developing transmission problem? Have had the machine since 1995.

Also, is the clutch lining the actual shoe?

Thanks so much for your help.

You have dragging brake shoes and a worn clutch. Go to my sticky above,"replacing direct drive washer brake shoes" for complete info on this. The test in there will confirm bad brake shoes, or something stuck in the tub.

I can’t find your "sticky". Please direct me to it.
Thank you.
