Instructions for replacing ERC

I ordered the ERC part (part # AP3205899) from your company today; however, the representative was not sure that the installation/replacement instructions would be included with the part. I am certainly not a repair expert; however, I can usually follow instructions well. The display indicates a F7 error code with a "56" flashing code to the right. It is my understanding that replacing the ERC will correct this, but I would like to review the instructions prior to receiving the part. Please advise if you can provide step-by-step instructions. Thanks so much!

The "F7" error code means that control senses shorted Start key.

The problem can be a bad key panel as well as a bad ERC or EOC ( two names for the same part - electronic control).

Based on my experience a faulty key panel is much more possible. So I would replace the key panel first. The instructions are attached to the reply.

The part number for the ERC is correct but I’m not sure if it will fix the problem.

Ok-this is my last question. Should I order the other part (the panel) prior to installing (or attempting to install) the ERC? I apologize for all the questions-just took the advice of 2 different reps with your company that the ERC was the part I needed-which costs more than the panel. I would like to minimize my costs but obviously want the problem corrected. Thanks again for your patience and assistance!

After reviewing all of the information you provided, you clearly provided your advice in your first response; therefore, I ordered the part you suggested today. If I find that we do not need the ERC part, we will return. Thanks again for your assistance-you have been GREAT to work with!

You are welcome. Thank you for your good words and good luck with your oven. Keep us posted.
