It Amazes Me !

How so many so-called "Technicians" really do not know what they are doing.
I get a call yesterday from a "Tech" stating he is working on a self contained show-case that will not pull down.
I asked for specifics, and this is his reply. The place is really hot, my "high-side" is 250# "low-side" 40#, box is at 55* F and not pulling down.
Evaporator is cold on first two passes.
 Asked what refrigerant is being used, did you evacuate to 500 microns ?, did you install new drier. Answer R 414 B and whats a micron  ? also I changed the new drier.
I explained about a micron gauge and his answer was "What the hll do I need that for". Said he evacuated for fifteen minutes.
I said it sounds like non- condensables in the system, to recover, evacuate and re-charge. Finally five hours later he took my advice.
He went back today and unit is at 38
