the oven control panel is very din dose it need replacing or is it something else wrong
Start with checking your voltage to the outlet. Is’ it just the clock or the controls?
The clock is brighter than the controls you can hardley see the controls or timer
Most likely the problem is a bad EOC (aka clock).
- The part number for the EOC is AP367441
Here are the break down diagrams for the Jenn Air range http://www.appliancepartspros.com/partsearch/model.aspx?diagram_id=651609&&model_id=44703
Gene.
Daryl,
I would start with the EOC and you can replace the membrane switch later, if needed.
You can find the complete instructions in the Service manual.
Gene.
Gene,
Dose the EOC control the oven because I don’t think the oven heats up quite right and the broiler dose not work.
thanks
daryl
Daryl,
The EOC does control the oven temperature and performance by reading the oven sensor and operating with the heating element(s).
Gene.
Gene,
Thank you for your information and I trust what you say I will let you know I make out.
Daryl
Gene,
Thanks again, for the price of the part and very little time it is fixed.
Daryl
I have a Jenn-Air SVD48600B. The oven works fine, but the display no longer works, so you can’t see the time, temp, etc. Some have suggested that just replacing the clock display unit will solve the problem and others have suggested that the control panel needs to be replaced? Any suggestions and part numbers would be appreciated. Thanks.

A fairly common problem with JennAires. The control board normally needs replacing, it has the display on it, Item 3 in the "Control panel" section.
The electrolytic capacitors on the board dry out over time and do not hold a charge so the display dims and finally goes out.
Could always just replace the capacitors if you have some electronics experience. __________________

You can get the proceedure to remove the spin tube assembly by reading my article in a "sticky" above "replacing direct drive washer brake shoes".
As noted, if you are working on the brake shoes, it is not necessary to remove the spin tube all the way. I use a flat blade screw driver to take off the "C" clips, and use pliers to put them back on.
The brake shoes are fine but the c clip groove in the t bearing wont hold the c clip on . It’s worn from the bottom and needs to be replaced.I’m not sure if this repair is worth it or not.
Are you talking about the "C" clip on the tranny spindle??
You need to read my sticky article to do this, get the spanner wrench, remove the agitator, loosten the drive block nut, pound down on it with a hammer while lifting up to get it free of the spin tube.
