Jenn-Air ice/water dispenser frozen up

Not sure of the age of my Jenn-Air side-by-side, we just moved in to this house in August 2010.

The water dispenser locked up today, no buttons work, the light stays on. I checked the manual and thought perhaps a grandchild had accidentally locked the unit, but trying the "unlock" steps made no difference.

The icemaker is making ice with no problem, we just can’t use the outside dispenser for ice or water.

Well this morning the dispenser buttons are working, and the light is off. My husband says he thinks the "actuator" that is pressed might be about to go out?

I forgot to mention yesterday there is water leaking from the bottom left area of the freezer section. Maybe from the freezer drain?
