I have a Jenn Air refrigerator that stopped cooling or freezing. I constantly hear a clicking sound. I inspected the rear of the unit and checked the coil for build up & it was clean. I clean the coil often. I heard the clicking sound coming from the compressor. Is the relay bad? Also how do I remove the relay from the compressor? Is this something I can do myself if I buy the right part?
I am having the same issue with a Hotpoint. What does the overload circuit do and what about the relay? Can I replace them vs the compressor?

I learned that the compressor relay is the problem. The relay switch needs to be replaced not the capacitor. I ordered my relay. Once I install I will let you know the results.
