My start button won’t light up when you push it but all the other lights will. I tripped the breaker and turned it back on about 4 or 5 times now hoping for divine intervention. I have taken the door apart and everything looks fine of course. I did find a bug fried in between the two first leads on the right hand side of the control board, but aside from that, I am at a loss. I thought about buying both the push button control panel and the control board and possibly sending one back when I got it fixed. Does anyone have any ideas, what the problem could be?
Ok, when I test the door it has continuity on the power side open or shut. Neutral continuity is off when door open and on when door shut. Power is still connected. What now?
Oh I see denman’s post and I will try that right now…

Many units have a thermal fuse that may have blown
We have tried the alcohol and are receiving 10,000ohms across the start/cancel terminals on the back of the control board when the button is pushed. Which indicates a good connection at the ribbon connector, and that the button bar is operating correctly.
I had exactly the same problems with my Jennair dishwasher JDB1105AWS. The start button and the delay button would not work but the cycle selection buttons would work and light up. This went on for more than a day. There had been a thunderstorm and the power had flickered off a few times.
I did turn the breaker off for a good 1/2 hour or so but no luck. it still didn’t work.
Then a miracle happened. I tried it again that evening … and it started working.
Now dishwasher is working fine. I suspect a transient electrical charge that discharged over time and the circuit was able to recover. But who knows.
I have a Maytag washing machine that I put new belts on, but it still won’t agitate. The spin cycle works okay, and I think the timer is working correctly; but it will not agitate during the wash cycle.
My control panel had stopped working and I tried turning off the breaker for a couple of days, no luck, then I took the dishwasher apart and did what Denman suggested. It seemed very simple was not sure if it would work, so I waited over 6 weeks until I did finally did it.
It worked, I just ran a full cycle. I will run it again with dishes later today.
I have the same problem, but turning off the breaker or replacing the touch panel did not do anything. This all started after I got some water into the door (poor gasket installation) and opened the door. I suppose I could have damaged something either while taking the door apart, or because of water.
Control panel seems sealed enough, so does not seem likely that it’s the problem. I checked the contacts. Don’t know what else I can check
I wonder if something could have gone wrong with the door switch? (My start button used to light up before you close the door)
