Kenmore 106.53706202 Ice Maker

The ice maker does not make ice. This was a problem several years ago, and the appliance technician replaced a valve/part at the back of the refrigerator. The water dispenser works with no issue. What I don’t here is the valve activation to allow the tray to fill with water. I did find on a blog/thread somewhere about switching wires on the controller, where it sounded as if there is a controller that is shared with the water dispenser and the ice maker. Is it possible to simply switch these to test if that is the problem? Where can I find a parts blow out which would show me this, and which wires to swap?

Thanks

Hi.

To test the water inlet valve take the rear panel off, locate the water valve at the bottom right and switch around two plugs .
Then at the water dispenser press the water lever.and check if the water is coming in to the ice maker.

Post the results.
