Our Kenmore 2800 is almost 5 years old. If we do any sort of standard wash cycle, the washer will NEVER spin.
However, if we set the washer to "Drain/Spin" it will spin the clothes… sometimes. It is successful about 30% of the time.
When we set the washer to Drain/Spin, one of four things happens:
- The washer goes through the normal spin cycle (Maybe 30% of the time)
- The washer will spin very slowly the entire time, but not fast enough to dry the clothes (Maybe 10% of the time)
- The washer starts spinning slowly for about 5 seconds… stops, starts spinning slowly for about 5 second, stops again, and then just sits there until the timer completes. (About 50% of the time)
- The lid locks and then unlocks. Nothing else happens - the digital timer runs down to about 3 minutes, and then resets to 11 - the lid locks and unlocks again, and the cycle repeats until we turn the washer off. No hums, nothing is running in the background when this happens (Every now and then, maybe 5% of the time)
Notes:
- Washer drains fine
- The same issue occurs for small loads and large loads, and doesn’t seem to be helped by re-organizing/re-balancing the clothes before setting the washer to drain/spin.
Any advice?
Thanks!
James
