Hello!
My Kenmore dishwasher has been making these loud, horrible noises during the entire cycle. It started a couple weeks ago and has just been getting louder and louder. My husband says it sounds like a plane taking off. It is VERY loud. We had a friend come look at who is a pretty good "Mr. Fix-It". He does not think it’s the motor, but the pump.
Any ideas?
I’ve looked on other sites and if it is the pump, I’m not even sure which one to get. There are different types.
I’d really appreciate any help.

The first thing I would do is check the chopper assembly (#6 on the diagram) as described in one of our previous threads: http://forum.appliancepartspros.com/dishwasher-repair/2903-whirlpool-dishwasher.html
If there is nothing wrong, then the motor assembly has to be replaced.
