I have a kenmore 70 series washing machine that won’t agitate or spin. The most common answer I’ve found is a bad coupler. I have it apart and have the coupler removed and it doesn’t look too bad (no visible cracks in the plastic or rubber part). I read that I could possibly test the transmission and/or clutch by placing the coupler back on the transmission drive and turning it. When I turn it the agitator moves but the basket does not. This happens when I turn it both clockwise and counter clockwise. Any idea if my problem may be the transmission or the clutch or possibly something else?
Also- I have performed all normal maintenance checks (lid switch, connections, stuck laundry, etc). All of those checked out ok
