I’ve got a dryer that runs, but has no heat, and the timer does not advance.
Thermal cut-off, Hi Limit Thermostat and Heating Element all check good.
It’s a co-workers dryer, I’ve not physically looked at it yet, but she pulled the above parts and brought them in for me to test and they all checked ok.
I asked her if the timer advanced in the ‘timed dry’ mode and she stated she never uses that mode, so she did not know. She only uses the dryer in the ‘auto’ mode.
She brought me the wiring diagram, and from that, it looks like the only thing that is common to both the heating element and the timer motor would be the switch on the wiring diagram whose terminals are labeled 2M and 1M. There is no indication on the wiring diagram as to where this switch is or what it looks like. On the wiring diagram it is early on Line L2 and has to be closed for the timer and heating element to get power.
Can someone point me in the right direction as to where this mysterious switch would be located, or if there is something else I’ve over looked.
Thanks in Advance for any help.
