I have a Kenmore Elite H3 gas dryer that the flame does not remain on. If the dryer is cold (not used in over 30 minutes), the igniter glows and the flame lights within seconds. The flame will remain on and the dryer will heat properly for approximately 15-20 minutes but then the flame goes out. After a few minutes of it going out, the igniter will start to glow again, I hear some clicking or rattling sound and then the igniter stops glowing… burner doesn’t light. It will continue through this cycle of the igniter glowing and shutting off with no flame for while. If I turn the dryer off for a while, allowing it to cool down, then start it up again, the flame turns on correctly but then shuts off after some time and the cycle starts all over again.
I’ve verified that there is nothing obstructing the vent, all lint has been cleaned away and I have also tried running it without the vent duct connected and the dryer pulled away from the wall. Same problem happens.
Anyone have any idea what the problem could be? Intuitively, it seems to be a faulty thermostat or other part that monitors temperature but I have no clue.
Thanks for any help you can provide.
