Kenmore Gas Range intermittant shut-off

I’ve been experiencing intermittant shut-off of both the oven and burners on my gas range starting a couple of months ago and it seems to be getting worse. The first time it happened, I had started a roast in the oven, got it up to 350 and walked away. When I checked on it an hour later, the oven was off and there were no error codes on the display. This happened again a couple more times over the next month with no obvious explanation. More recently, I had the oven and 2 or 3 burners going at the same time and the next thing I know, everything is off and, again, no error codes on the display. It just shuts itself off after it’s been running for a while and I have no clue as to why. I’ve confirmed that the flexible gas line isn’t kinked, but beyond that, I don’t know what else to look for. The only other oddity I’ve noticed is that, following a power failure and subsequent "unlocking" of the burners, something on the unit buzzes/squeals very noticably for a week or so and eventually quiets down to where it is inaudible; could this be related? Could the problem be something to do with the shut-off valve/lock-out solenoid going bad?

Any suggestions as to how to diagnose the problem would be appreciated.

Thanks - Greg!

Greg,

Have you been able to relight the top burners right after it stopped?

The model number you posted is incomplete.

Gene.

Yes, in all instances I was able to relight the burners/oven without any trouble.

The complete Model # is 665.75842001

Thanks

Sorry I never got back to you; I wasn’t notified that another response had been made to my posting and just saw it today. I did however order a replacement valve and solenoid for the main gas supply to the unit. It was the source of the buzzing/squealing I mentioned in the original post and I though I might get lucky and solve 2 problems with 1 solution.

But I will check the ground line as suggested and get back to you with my findings.

Thanks,
Greg
