I have a Kenmore Elite He4 electric dryer, model number 110.8586, that will not turn on. The repairman said it could be one of two (or possibly both) parts that are causing the issue - the front control panel and/or the circuit board in the back. His recommended approach was to replace the front control panel first to see if that worked, then replace the back circuit board as a second step.
I’ve decided to try repairing it on my own - the cost quoted by the repairman was close to the cost of a new dryer. Anyone know of instructions on replacing the front control panel? Other thoughts on how to determine the guilty part?
This seems to be a common issue with this model and similarly manufactured Whirlpool models. If anyone has some guidance on how to replace these parts, it might help out a lot of people.
Thanks,
Adam
