I have a Kenmore washer Model 110.23932200 that agitates immediately when the fill cycle begins. I’ve replaced the water level switch but that didn’t solve the problem. Later, I noticed that the agitator speed doesn’t change when I changed the speed setting. Could the problem of filling and agitating at the same time be caused by a bad speed switch, or do you think it’s a bad timer? Thanks for your help!
It could be a bad timer. But, what I would do first is take the plastic hose off to the water level switch, and blow through it. If you cannot blow through it, it is clogged, and it would cause the same symptom. If it is clogged take the hose off the side of the tub, and get an all, or a needle, and clean out the small tube. You can get to this by, pulling the washer out, and leaning it back to get underneath it. If you need to locate the timer, we can help you. Tom

Tommy61, We have the same problem with our machine. I’m curious as to what your final repair ended up to be? I turn on the wash cycle the water starts to fill tub and the agitator kicks in as well, this happens in all the cycles. I discovered this issue when my wife said the clothes need to be re-spinned, the clothes where soaked. I also notice as the machine is in a spin cycle the water continues to fill tub so I have to shut off the water supply in order to spin dry clothes.
Be waiting for a response/ thoughts
Thank you,
Mr.Mike
Seems like a shorted water level switch. I would remove the clear plastic hose from the tub ( that goes to the water level switch) and blow in it. If the switch clicks, it may have unstuck and now is ok, just check. If ok, I would replace it.
