Kenmore Washer HE2 Front Loader

Washer fills, starts to spin and water flows out below the door, inbetween the fron covers and on the floor.
Might suspect the ‘bellows seal’ but not sure.
I’d like to remove the lower cover below the door and watch… Can I do that? How do I get the front cover(s) off.

AES,

To remove the lower front panel,

There is a hex head screw on the bottom edge of the panel, near the corners, one on each side.

They can be loosened / removed with a open end wrench, unless you want to raise the front of the machine.

Good Luck,

OK, I’ve noticed the 3 hex screws and will remove them tonight. I’m planning to remove the bellows seal and I’ve had the front part off but tonight I’ll attack the ream mounting. I notice some rather hefty gray molded brackets held with larger bolts (maybe 5/8 or so) around the perimeter of the tub. Looks like I have to remove them to get to the back mounting of the seal?? If that is not the problem what might be next most probable??

AES,

Those gray molded brackets, should be the tub counter balance weights, you should not need to remove them to access or remove the bellows.

Unless I’m mis understanding you ?

you should be able to find the tension ring, holding the bellows to the tub cover and remove it somewhat easily, getting it back on properly is the hard part.
