ok…i got this washer from a lady and she said it wouldnt spin…i have an older kenmore that i have for parts that i "assume" are good as all it need when i got it were knobs and so i figured it was either a timer problem or somehing mechanical with the pump, xmission, or motor and i could just swap the parts out for t/s purposes…i hooked it up to cold water and set it on low level fill and a short cycle…it started pumping in water and then just started draining immediately…it doesnt have a belt…just the pump so i changed the pump with the one i had for parts…didnt fix it…next i suspected the water level pressure switch…or the line …so i blew in the line and checked it for air leaks and read continuity across the normally open "full" side of the switch itself…it was open…thought maybe if it was closed it would not let the thing fill just go immediately to drain because it would think it was already full…now im stuck…what is next??.. …thanks shawn
the drain hose is off of it right now because im t/s out in my garage and just letting the water go out into my driveway…but it installs on the back right corner on the bottom…i got to looking at the schematic and there is a switch in the timer assembly that controls the drain function that maybe shorted or something…planning on picking up a used one from a local appliance graveyard and seeing if that will fix it…something is giving power to the motor to spin the pump when it isnt supposed to be so the switch would make sense…any thoughts??
washer i cant figer out how to tighten the belt
