Kenmore Won't Spin With Hot Water

I’ve got an unusual problem. When using hot or warm water, the washer won’t drain or spin. When it gets to that point in the cycle, agitation stops. The motor keeps running and the timer advances to the end of the cycle, with the tub sitting full of water. If I let the water cool down and restart, then the empty, fill, empty and spin works just fine. When I use cold water, all is good every time without exception. I measured continuity of the temperature switch and fill sensor and the continuity and resistance of the wig-wag all at hot and cold times and they checked out fine. When using hot water, I tried switching the temperature control to cold and rerunning the cycle but it would still not spin until I let the water cool down. I checked the wiring harness for marginal connections and chafing but all looked good. How can the temperature of the water affect whether the washer won’t spin?
