During a wash cycle I opened the door to retrieve something and from then on the unit does not function any longer. I have checked the house breakers and made sure the plug used is operational. I receive no lights or power signal on the front panel. Any suggestions?

Could be that the door switch is not being activated or is shot.
By the sound of it the unit is using a line (power) cord so I would check the wire nut connections on that.
It certainly does look antique, but a few parts are still available.
