I have owned this Kitchen Aid for about 5 years now. I really hate to replace it, because it matches all of my appliances and has been working fine. Suddenly, a few days ago, the control panel just stopped working. What I mean by this is that the control panel is not responding to any buttons that are depressed. I’m not sure that it is the control panel for sure, as this is the only information I have (I’m not a dishwasher mechanic but am very handy). If someone can help me troubleshoot this issue, that would be awesome!!! I hate to buy a new one or pay someone a few hundred bucks when I can probably fix the problem myself.
thank you. If you were looking at this, would you start with the meter? I have a feeling that it is related to the control panel. Maybe that is wishful thinking, but just not sure where to start here. Any advice is much appreciated. Thank you for your response so far!
When I look at a dead unit I always check the power at the plug.
Then at the machine re: wire nuts or where ever the line cord attaches to the actual unit’s wiring.
Then on this unit I would check the thermal fuse.
It is not uncommon for these fuses to blow as you can see they have come up with a kit to help alleviate this.
