I have 2 problems with my dishwasher:
(1) The door won’t stay closed throughout the entire cycle
(2) The control buttons aren’t working properly so the dishwasher will start
Problem 1: After a repairman installed a new cabinet door seal, the door wouldn’t stay closed. I have replaced the strike plate and the door latch. They worked perfectly for two days, then the door popped open again. It looks as though it’s mostly through the cycle and just needs to empty the last water as both soap bins are empty and the dishes appear to be clean.
Since it went through the entire cycle again when I just closed the door, I’ve been pressing "cancel" then "rinse only" "start" and it’s started and fully emptied.
Problem 2: Last night I ran the dishwasher by pressing "heavy" "start" and it started as it should, until I looked at it a couple of hours later and the door was obviously ajar and the "heavy" light was still lit. I pressed "cancel", but nothing happened. So I closed the door, but it didn’t start. I pressed "cancel" several times and the "heavy", the "normal" and the "4 hour delay" lights were all blinking and wouldn’t respond to pressing "cancel" so I flipped the breaker. Then just the "heavy" light was on, so I closed the door and left it for the night, but nothing happened except the "heavy" light went out.
Now the "heavy" light won’t come on when I press it, although the "normal" and "rinse only" lights do, but pressing "start" won’t start the machine. Normally, when pressing "start" the selection light will blink and then you shut the door. Now the "start" button seems to have no effect. The "cancel" button does make the selection’s light go out.
