Kitchen Aid ice dispenser problem

Odd problem with dispenser, haven’t seen this one on the forum.

Press dispenser, no ice, no sound.
Remove the ice container, press dispenser, still no go.
Remove flange and rod, press dispenser - motor strains, starts very slowly, then gets up to speed.
Replace shaft and flange. Works.
Replace ice container. Works like a champ.
Walk away for 10-15 minutes. Come back, press dispenser, no joy.

Any ideas? Replace motor, even though it seems OK once I get the load off?
