At first there was a noice coming from the top of the refrigerator. I think it was the condeser Fan. Now the fan does not start and the lights in the control panel blink on and off. The refrigerator seems not to cool up to the set degrees. Also, The condeser coils on top of the refrigerator are very hot.
Do I need to replace the condenser fan??
Need help. I live in a rural area and the repair company doesn’t seem to know what the problem is. Not sure if they have ever worked on a sub zero system.
Sorry, but I made a mistake and provided the wrong model number. I used the book I had and it seems to be the wrong user manual. I checked in the refrigerator and the correct number is:
KSSC48QMS02
I was hoping it was only the fan, but you think it is also the control Board?
Thanks for the help. Hopefully it is an easy install.
Use the multimeter to check if there is 120VAC at the condenser motor. If you are lucky and the correct voltage present, replace the motor only W10181323
Sorry for the delay. The system is located in my vacation home and I can only get to it over the weekend.
Where is the condenser motor?
I restarted the system after a week and the fan started up immediately. The control lights come on and it seemed that the frig was working fine. After about two hours the fan turned off and the system would not cool down any longer. I also hear a faint noice close to the on and off switch (a slight clickin)
I need to know if I need control board under the lights in the frig. or the main control board. The fan seems to work fine.
The condenser fan motor is on the top left close to compressor. You need to replace the main control board up on the top. It’s no longer available. You need to contact the Whirlpool on this issue. In you previous post you stated that the condenser fan motor doesn’t work and that’s why I suggested to replace it. So does it work? If it’s not - replace it too.
Well I purchased the control panel. Installed without a problem. The system started up just fine. Both fans were working. The condencer fan after an hour turned off, the system is still cooling but the coils are very warm and the panel by the doors are also warm. Not sure if this is normal. The system has not cooled down to the normal amount. I hope the condenser fan not working will not damage anything else. I am also concerned with the panels in the refrigerator being warm.
What is the part # of the board? Did you replace the condenser motor?

Hi Simon: The part number for the board is W10219463 which is the part number on the WEB site. I did not replace the Fan condenser motor. The fan seemed to be working at the time I tested the system, in fact the fan started up when the system cools down. It stays on for about 30 to 60 min and then turns off. Should I also replace the fan motor?
I have a question on the fan. I tested the fan when I turn the system on and the voltage is correct and the fan is working fine for about one hour. It’s when the system start to heat up that the fan turns off. There is no electricity going to the fan after that. It seems to be doing the exact opposite of that it should be doing. Is there a heat control part to the coils that might be malfunctiing?
Please let me know. I just hate to buy a part if it’s not what I need.
Both fans (evaporator and condenser) and compressor turns off when the fridge
is going into self defrost for about 30 min.
If you replaced the control board and condenser fan stops you should replace it.It’s a general recommendation to replace them together because the damaged motor may "kill" a brand new board.
There is no any condenser temperature control devise for your model.
The inverter is only controlling the compressor.

Received the fan and installed it. Everything started up just as it should. The condenser fan was running and then stopped. The coils started to heat up and the fan never turned back on. The fan only runs if the system is cold. I can leave the system off for several hours and when I start it up everything works.
