I have a 10-year-old KitchenAid dishwasher (model KUDS02SRBL1), that has a wacky problem – sometimes water (~1" deep?) is left in the bottom of the tub at the end of the cycle. Doesn’t always happen though. Whether or not there is water in the bottom of the tub, the dishes seem to get equally clean and dry, but I’d rather not have that much water just sitting around waiting to cause a problem. I’ve checked and didn’t find any blockages at the garbage disposal, and the bottom of the dishwasher looks clean, no obstructions in the grill or anything. I’ve also run some Glisten Dishwasher Magic through it, and the occasional water in the bottom behavior continues (didn’t happen the cycle that I ran the cleaner, but it did a few cycles after).
Any tips on where to look first? Does this sound like a check valve? Drain pump? All of the above?
