My KitchenAid side by side ice maker is not working. I checked the optics and when I open the door, the light blinks twice then pause then twice again. When I push in the flapper on the left, it stays on steady. When I looked at it yesterday that’s what it was doing, later today it was off completely when the door was open and when the flapper was pushed in so I pulled the plug for a minute and then when I plugged it back in it went back to blinking twice/steady on.
My water filter has never been changed because the city water is pretty good here. The water dispenser in the door works fine. I checked the tip of the water line over the dispenser and observed no ice or frost. What is the next step?
