Kitchenaid Ice Maker stopped working

Hello,

I’ve got a 2 year old kitchenaid kfis25xvms1 refrigerator. The ice machine was working well until about a month ago, and a storm seemed to have knocked it out of commission.

I was hoping you’d be able to help me with a couple of things:

  1. I was trying to remove the ice maker but unfortunately, I can’t figure out how to get it out. There appears to be a tab on the left hand side that needs to be lifted, but when I lift it and try to pull it out, it’s still stuck in there. I’m sure there’s something basic I’m missing, but not sure what it is and surprisingly google wasn’t much help.

  2. What’s the best diagnostics I can perform to see what the actual problem is? I’d like to nail down the specific cause so that I know the correct part to repair/order.
