Kitchenaid Oven Help

Bought this oven this past weekend and am not real happy with it. Bottom oven was baking at 300 degrees. Turned top oven on to preheat to 400 degrees. The top oven got to 395 on the display and then the temp started to fall. It fell down to 355, came back up to 380 and didn’t go any higher. The bottom oven finished cooking and we turned it off then reset top oven and it finally came up to temp after having run trying to heat 30 minutes already.

Anyone have any clues what might be going on?

Could be that one of the elements in the oven is toast.
Most units switch back and forth between the elements when in preheat and bake modes. This provides a more even temperature profile in the oven.

Unplug the stove.
This is very important because on most units there is still voltage to one side of the element even when it is turned off.
Undo the screw/s holding the element to the back of the oven.
Carefully pull the element into the oven.
Remove the wires from it and check it with a meter.
Broil should be around 15 ohms, bake should be around 20 ohms.
It is a good idea to clip something (clothespin etc.) to the wires so they do not disappear into the back of the unit while you are checking the element.

If OK then odds are that there is a problem in the control board (item 3 in section 06)
