Kitchenaid oven was never cooked food

This oven has never been able to cook food throughly and it destroys every meal I have ever made in it. My toaster oven and my gas oven in my camper are far better. The oven was out of warranty because the house sat empty after it was built for five years.

In order to cook an out of the box thin crust rice pizza I must run the oven for 34 minutes, directions state 10 minutes. In order for the pizza to cook all the way through and not be soggy, the top of the pizza is dark brown and the edges are burned. I cooked a turkey and after 8 hours it was still raw inside.

Oddly the thermometer I have inside the oven says the oven temp inside matches what is on the digital display.

I had a Kitchenaid refrigerator and it died after 3 years, the cost to repair it was $800.00. So I spent $2200. on a new Samsung inside.
Old cheap ovens that are 20 years old cook perfect turkeys and breads, yet my new Kitchenaid is a piece of junk. I am ripping it out and replacing it with some thing real, like a Wolf.

I suspect Kitchenaid is for people who buy TV dinners and mostly use the microwave. I do not know if the microwave works because I have never used it. Bottom line: never buy a new Kitchenaid appliance.

Hello MountainBikeBabe,

I feel sorry for the problems you are heaving with this oven. It is very unusual because ovens made by Kitchen Aid are usually cooking pretty good. If you would like we can guide you through the troubleshooting process.

Gene.

Check that both elements work.

Most units switch back and forth between the bake and broil elements during pre-heat and bake.

If one of them is not working then you get long pre-heat times and also the uneven temperatures in the oven.
