I was given this washer by my inlaws last week because they bought new. Nothing was wrong with it when they took it out, but now that its here at my house there is. Its leaking well more like pouring water from the hot water inlet valve when the washer is set to cold cold when it fills. If the hot water is hooked up it still runs out enough to soak the floor. I unhooked the hot water for now and put it so it can drain in the sink…when its set to warm cold or warm warm it still leaks but not as bad…is the valve bad? Hopefully its a relatively inexpensive fix as having a washer is a luxury I didn’t have till I got this one. I appreciate your help and have a great day!
It’s very difficult to diagnose the water leak without seeing the washer. Open the top (use putty knife to open two clips under the top one in each corner) and check where the leak is coming from. Post the result (may be the picture) and very important the complete model and serial number of the washer.
Thank you for your prompt response. Ok so I opened up the washer and couldn’t find a leak inside. I took some pictures but that didn’t really explain the problem so I uploaded a short video to dropbox and copied the link below. I unhooked the hose from the hot water valve to show the water that pours from it. With the hose hooked up and the hotwater valve turned on or off its a steady trickle down the back of the washer and the floor etc etc. I tried not opening up the cold water valve all the way but that didn’t help either. Please let me know if you need any other information.
It’s still not clear where the water comes from. Connect both hoses back on and just look where is the leak.
May be the water valve’s body is cracked? May be the the hose is not attached properly and/or the threads are damaged?
