Leking Whirlpool LSQ8243HQ0

I have a leaky Whirlpool(LSQ8243HQ0) that seems to leak only on the final (high spin) cycle underneath and on the left side as you look at the washer. After some investigation I thought that the drain hose from the pump that clamps to the back panel was the culprit. I replaced it but that was not the problem. My wife also mentioned that sometimes on the dark clothes that white spots (almost looks like lint) that appear to be soap stains are sometimes evident.

After a recent load I noticed drops of water on the side panel where the leak had occurred. The tub was not overfilled.

Any ideas on what is going on? Also, what is the easiest way to remove the back panel or top so that I can observe where the leak is occurring while the washer is operating?

take the outer shell off the washer. there should be two screws under the timer cover where it hooks upto the cabnet on top as you look at it. take them out gently pull forword and up this will get you to where there is two retaining clips. take them out and disconect the ele. connection. then lift the whole outter shell off by pulling forword and up…
as for what causes the outer tub to crack… alot of differnt things could of happend… its best to say thay just do…
Thanks so much for all of the input. We just completed a load of towels and I immediately checked the water pump and it was dry as a bone. I did notice some water on one side of the outer drum and the wall of the washer. There was no leaking until the "high spin" cycle- I had been checking throughout the entire load. I did notice that the outer tub ring seal showed moisture. Could this possibly be the culprit?

Just took the front lower cover off my He3T with the leaking problem and found remnants of a pen when I checked the outtake gathering thingy…anyway hought I’d restart to see if this fixed the leak and found it was leaking just above this area…when I put my finger up voila…a hole in the bellow(gasket)…slit like and barely visible but it was allowing water to drain down and into the drawer underneath and out to the sides where it would exit by dripping down the outside of the drawer about 1/2 way back. The bellow is 102.00 I believe and the clamp another bit if it happens to be broken. Also there is a spring around the bellow…
Good luck…mine was from a fork which just happened to be in my sons wash! I found it the other day when I put my hand in around the inside ring of the bellow to see if the new leak might be seen…Unfortunately I just replaced this about 2 months ago!
