I have an LG WM2455HW washing machine that will attempt to cycle just fine and doesn’t throw any error codes, however, it simply won’t spin when given any resistance. You can hear some noise as it tries to spin, but it can’t do it. When I remove all the clothes, it can turn the drum then, but more than a couple of wet shirts and it can’t turn anymore.
My guesses are that either the stator is failing or the clutch is slipping. However, since it will at least spin a little, I am wondering if it is the stator or not, as I would assume those either fail completely or not. Could it be that the rotor assembly is loose?
I opened the machine and was able to freely spin the tub, so I do not suspect that the bearings are to blame.
Thanks in advance for any help. We have two young boys, so the sooner I can fix this the better!
