I have an LG brand refrigerator Model LRBN25514ST that has stopped cooling in both the freezer section (bottom) and the refrig section. The fridgerator makes a clicking sound periodically. The interior light and temp setting numbers in the fridge still light up. Is there a fuse on the PCB that may have blown? Or could this be some other malfunction. Thanks

Feel the compressor, is it hot and vibrating, or just hot, or cold.
The compressor (black round shaped unit) is hot. Is it not suppose to be that temperature? I unplugged the fridge before removing the back cover plate so I don’t know if it was vibrating. If important to diagnose the problem, I will plug in and check for vibration. Thanks
I plugged the fridge back in. A fan started a short time after that which blew air into the area around the compressor. A short time after that, there was a "click" sound heard from the back area. The compressor never vibrated during this period of about a minute .
You have a bad start device on the side of the compressor.Just pull the side cover off, note which wires go where and remove it. If it shakes when rattled,It’s bad. or just check with a meter should be 5- 10 ohms.
Sorry, I was working when you responded.
No worries. Thanks for responding. Took out the starter relay and overload. Both rattled and small pieces (of insulation?) fell out. Ordered new ones of each.
Ps. Do you ever have to replace the "freon" on these newer fridges? I know they don’t actually use freon anymore, but I can’t recall what the newer coolant is called.
