LG washer coding OE

I ordered a new drain pump for my LG washing machine, it arrived and I put it in. It took care of the issue of draining… but machine is still coding OE, seems to happen during the rinse cycle, I can hear something trying to work but it’s not. Any clue on what i should replace next? The tub doesn’t seem to do anything once the rinse cycle initiates, however the tub spins fine during the washing… so I have been doing the wash cycle twice and then manual override to the spin cycle to get the job done for now… any help would be much appreciated

Check for 120 VAC to the pump motor at that time.

If the reading is incorrect, replace the main power board.

120 VAC to the pump motor… what is that? Sorry not a pro here by any means. I saw someone else talk about a circulation pump… wasn’t sure if that could be it… why does the mother board need to be replaced? Thank you for your time and patience

The drain pump consists of two parts: the pump itself and the electric motor which moves the pump when it’s needed.

This motor needs 120 VAC in order to run. This voltage supplied to the motor by the power control board.

You have to have a simple voltmeter to check the voltage to this motor. If you do not feel comfortable to do it, it’s better to hire a pro.

Is it possible the electric motor is bad? Or does that not happen, you just replace the power to it. Thank you again, I really do appreciate this

You said that you just replaced the drain pump. Was it brand new? It comes with the new motor so I’m hoping the motor is good.

You can try to replace the power control board, but doing that without proper diagnostic is just a guessing and I, personally, do not like such way. Most of time it becomes very expensive.

Yes it was new, I ordered it from this site (or the one connected to this forum). So with that eliminated was looking to what to fix next… thank you Gene.

You are welcome. Keep us posted.
