My lid switch just broke and I’ve ordered a new one. The plastic that holds the screws is what broke. Anyway how do I get to this part to put in a new one? Does the top of the washing machine come off?

You have spring clips at the front corners. Pry the top up from the front to release. You can then reach the lid switch with the top raised. Part 11 on your diagram of the top http://www.appliancepartspros.com/partsearch/model.aspx?model_id=261569
