Magic Chef broiler not working

Hi. Sorry in advance for this most basic post.

I have a Magic Chef 6498VRA gas oven that’s 10 years old. The bake feature of the oven works but the broiler doesn’t. I was told by the Maytag/Whirlpool folks that I may need either a new timer, thermostat or ignitor.

I found out later that that the oven only has one ignitor (not a separate one for the bake vs broil function), so I guess this is not the issue?

Can anyone offer advice on what part I might need? Or, if there is no way to know unless you’re looking at the stove/testing the stove, that would be helpful to know as well.

Does the igniter glow when you select "bake"? Can you hear the gas flow?

Hi. Sorry for the delay - I was away for a couple of days. I’ll have to get back to you on that one. For sure, when I selected ‘bake’, the temperature started to climb, but nothing happened when I selected ‘broil’.

Hmmm: Sounds like there may be a problem with the control board.
