I have a Maytag Bravos washer and it is having problems filling with water. I will see a little water filling it and then itstops filling water and just hums and spins until it stops altogether and flashes the code "LF". I have already checked the hoses and screens. Everything there seems fine. Do I need to replace a valve? If so what would it be called and how hard is it to replace?
The machine has a built in control. If it takes too long to fill, the CCU stops everything because it believes something is wrong, which it is. It displays the LF error to tell you the problem, which is kinda silly since you already know what the problem is.
Under the top is a set of tech notes which will describe some diagnosis, but I think your problem can be fixed by changing out the inlet assembly. To get the top open, insert a putty knife in the gap between the top and front near the edges to release clips that hold the top down. It will now flip up. To change out the inlet assembly you will have to open up the console, which is done by taking out screws in the back and flipping it up.
This repair takes some time, but it is not difficult.
If you buy the part from this site and it does not fix things, you can return it. See the returns policy for details and conditions.
Thank you so very much! I am going to order the part and give it a go! I greatly appreciate your help!
Great, good luck and let us know how things turn out.
I replaced the valve and now it’s working great! Thanks again! I couldn’t have done it without your help!
Great, glad you got it fixed and thanks for the update.
What part was ordered to fix this problem? I have the same problem … and it is driving me NUTS!
Can you please tell me the part to order to replace the inlet assembly? I’ve had this same issue and an appliance repair company has come out two times and incorrectly diagnosed the problem.
