Maytag dishwasher not starting

From perusing this board it sounds like I may have a bad keypad as well.
I bought this Maytag dishwasher at Home Depot on May 23 2011 and it stopped working when I tried to use it on July 4th 2012. (just conveniently past the 12 month warranty) I have probably used the dishwasher fewer than 25 times in that time period. Some of the lights for the cycles will go on but the start button will no longer do anything to start any cycle. Quite lame. Can I get the tech sheet and part listings for this model?
Has anyone successfully changed the keypad and will a new one last more than 13 months?

From the info you provided most likely it’s the bad control panel.

The model # is indeed MDB7749AWQ1

I was able to find it this which appears to be what I need.

I would feel better about ordering it if there was a tech sheet I could refer to that would help me rule out anything else.

I was able to locate the breakdown parts list for this model.
What color is your dishwasher?

If you will get the parts from APP you can return any unused ones even if they been installed.
