I have a Maytag electric dryer. When I turn it on, the digital display comes on and works as normal. The heating element and the drum belt work. I took the top off and the drum spins normally when pushed manually. The dryer works as normal (clock ticks down, sensors detect wetness, etc), except the drum doesn’t turn when the dryer cycle is started. When I ran the diagnostic test, it told me that the inlet thermistor was faulty. Would this cause the drum to not turn? It seems like that was for the heating element.
When you say that the " drum belt work", do you mean that it turns but slips on the drum?
Is the motor running?
If not does it make any noise?
Sounds like the belt is not on correctly. Take a look at the sticky (Dryer Belt Diagrams) at the start of this section.
