Maytag Dryer is making a horrible ruckus.

Our old Maytag started to make a horrible rumbling noise. My step father has replaced the bearing (or the idler pulley) once on it already several years back and he thinks that’s the problem once again. But from doing a little digging around I’ve found that a rounded blower wheel hole could also be the culprit.

Now, the rumbling isn’t just a noise, it also causes the dryer to shake significantly. Would a plastic blower wheel (which I’m guessing isn’t big or heavy) cause such shaking?

We have another dryer waiting in the wings if this one gives up the ghost, but if a $15 fix will let me squeak a couple more years out of it, well, why not? What do you guys think?

Thanks for your expertise. Nice community around here.
