My Maytag dryer MDE4658AY starts normally but shuts off after 5 to 25 seconds. There are no unusual noises, the drum turns without noise. The dryer produces heat as it should. I can turn on the dryer repeatedly right after it stops and the same thing happens. The door closes and latches normally.
I tried checking service codes using the instructions in the service manual but cannot enter service mode (the lights do light up when I turn the dial).
Is this a control board malfunction?
