My Maytag dishwasher sounds like it is grinding itself a new ***hole when it is running. Also it doesn’t seem to be rinsing well as there is a film on the glasses and what looks like soap residue on the silverware.
Any thoughts?
Film is hardwater build up.Use 1 cup of Lime-A-Way in light wash cycle.Noise is something caught in pump near grinder.
Your model number is short a few digits.
I used MDB7600AWB it should be close to yours.

Often this is just something in the sump/chopper etc.
Washer works intermittently. Have tried a new timer but that wasn’t the problem. Any suggestions?
Check the lid switch and the coupling, which are the two parts that go most often on these models.
The lid swich and coupler are fine, the washer will start only when I turn on the dryer. That is the only time the washer will work. Will not work independantly.
Well that is weird, frustrating to you, kinda interesting for us.
I think there is something amiss in the wiring. Basically your machine uses two 120v circuit to get 240 to the dryer to heat. Otherwise everything runs on 120v. You are going to have to traced the wiring from the connection block (I am assuming the dryer dries, which means both legs are working, check them anyway) into the washer.
