Thanks for this forum. My Maytag fridge MFI2569VEB is’nt cooling. All fans work, compressor is warm and running replaced start device but compressor is nowhere near as warm as the one on my other fridge. Any suggestions would be most appreciated
Can you also feel the compressor vibrating?
This is an extra check just to be 100% sure it is running.
If the compressor runs and does not cool at all odds are that it is a sealed system problem.
If there is some cooling check that the evaporator fan in the freezer is running.
If it is them remove the evaporator cover so you can inspect the evaporator coils.
If you have some cooling and the evaporator coils are heavily frosted/iced over you have a defrost problem.
If there is no frost/ice then it is a sealed system problem.
If there is just frost/ice in one area usually where the freon enters the coils then you are low on freon also sealed system.
Both the sealed system problems are expensive repairs as you need a pro.
Often it makes sense to put those dollars towards a new unit.
I would check your warranty as many units have a longer warranty on the sealed system.
it is running and vibrating somewhat i suspect that the black overload or run capacitor may not be functioning properly causing it not to get a good running start thanks for your help
If it is running then the starter etc are OK.
Since it is running it sounds more like a sealed system problem.
The compressor will run continuously.
