My frige won’t stay cold but freezer is cold and forming ice please help me thanks

Was the compressor running? You can usually hear it but should also be able to feel it vibrating and it should be warm.
If it was running was it running all the time?
Was the evaporator/freezer fan running? It is required to push cold air from the freezer in to the fresh food section?
Did you check that perhaps the fresh food temperature setting has been moved?
When you saay it is "forming ice" do you mean that iot is making ice cubes or is it icing up on the back wall etc.?
