Maytag Neptune leaves clothes soaking wet...Bet this sounds like a broken record.

Ok, I keep reading about all of these washers just like mine doing the same thing. They leave clothes soaking wet like it’s not spinning fast enough. The only thing is my door lock light DOES come on and I just checked the control board and the R11 and Q6 are fine they look brand new. So I am just having trouble getting to the wax motor. I took off the door and bottom part but can’t figure out the top part. Also, how can I tell if the wax motor is the problem? Will it look burnt. One more thing there is a little light bulb at the the top of the door after I took it off that is burnt out and it’s not the light that lights the inside of the washer that still works. What might that do?

Hi there,

If your Neptune has a timer knob (non digital) you need to replace your wax motor if it has a brownish color actuator pin. The new wax motors have a black color pin. See Neptune Help for a video that shows how to inspect your wax motor. I would replace the wax motor first and see if that helps get your clothes spinning again. If not, we can go from there.

The light located in the door latch assembly is the tub light and it is a C7 10 watt bulb.
