Maytag - Replaced Belt & Pulley, spins a few revolutions then locks up Read more: ht

I’ve replaced the Belt & Pulley after it burned up then It’ll spin a few revolutions before it locks up. I can tip it over and hand spin the agitator pulley to free it up but it does the same thing again. does anyone have any ideas? thanks, Bart

This is hard to diagnose from afar. See if you can operate it with the front panel off to tell what happens, then try it with the belt off to see if the motor is ok. It probably is and it is the transmission that is hanging up and burning out the belt and pulley.
